Highland Jazz and Blues Festival Nov. 17, 2007

Highland Area Partnership, Inc., announces the fourth annual Highland Jazz & Blues Festival to be held Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Columbia Park, from Noon until 6 p.m. The festival will feature eleven bands on two stages, plus art and crafts booths and a variety of local and international food and drink offerings. Admission is free.

Lee Marvin Adams will act as master of ceremonies again this year. Food offerings will include barbecue, pizza, Cajun, Caribbean, and Indian.


This year’s festival is funded in part by the City of Shreveport, Shreveport Regional Arts Council, and the Shreveport Convention & Tourist Bureau, plus special sponsors and friends of Highland Area Partnership.

As in the past, festival attendees are invited to bring camp chairs and blankets if desired and to enjoy an afternoon of music and arts and crafts at Columbia Park.

Let us help you beautify your Highland home!

The Highland Area Partnership, Inc. is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2007 by awarding 15 grants of up to $500 in reimbursement of expenses used to make highly visible exterior improvements to residential properties in the Highland neighborhood. Simply fill out the application available on our home page and return it to us by July 20, 2007.

• up to $500 reimbursement of expenses
• exterior improvements (paint, structural, landscaping, etc.)
• residential properties only

Highland Jazz & Blues Fest Date has been set.




Mark Your Calendars for This Fall! The Fourth Annual Highland Jazz & Blues Festival will take place in Columbia Park on Saturday, November 17, 2007.

Highland Community Garden

The Highland Community Garden is located at Herdon and Stephens. HAP is partnering with Noel Methodist Church to provide space for neighbors to work together and grow relationships as well as plants.

Highland Bicycle Patrol


Two Shreveport police officers will be riding throughout Highland (weather permitting) this spring, summer, and fall.
